Governor Pritzker presided over 2 ribbon cuttings on Civiltech projects! The US Route 41 at Deerpath (Pump Station #38) and the Houbolt Road Diverging Diamond Interchange are recently completed significant projects on which Civiltech provided Construction Management services.

On November 1, Governor Pritzker attended the ribbon cutting for the Houbolt Road DDI. The Governor utilized the opening of the Houbolt Road corridor as an introduction to the extensive I-80 work, both under construction and forthcoming. The following day, November 2, was the ribbon cutting for IDOT’s Route 41 at Deerpath which includes Pump Station #38. During the Governor’s remarks, he included this project as an example of the meaningful infrastructure work being delivered by the state. This ribbon cutting was held at the Lake Forest Parks and Recreation building. Secretary Osman and IDOT Chief Engineer, Steve Travia, P.E. delivered remarks. Additional IDOT reps were present at both ribbon cuttings.

The Houbolt Road project converted the existing diamond interchange to a DDI (Diverging Diamond Interchange). The interchange is part of the overall Houbold Road corridor improvement linking a new private toll bridge over the Des Plaines River to I-80 and is the state’s fourth DDI interchange. The project was developed through a partnership between the City of Joliet and IDOT with the goal of improving access from the intermodal shipping yards south of the river with the interstate system.
