Various Traffic Signal Projects

Civiltech Provides Phase II Traffic Signal Design Throughout IDOT District 1

Civiltech is honored to be entrusted with this ongoing traffic signal design contract. Projects under this contract include preparation of traffic signal and traffic signal system designs at various locations within the boundaries of IDOT-District 1 including the following:

  • IL Route 19 (Irving Park Road), Judd Avenue to IL Route 171 (Cumberland Avenue) | Schiller Park – Traffic signal modifications and modernizations at five intersections with new fiber optic interconnect. Included connection to an emergency vehicle preemption button inside a nearby fire station.
  • IL Route 72 (Higgins Road) at Randall Road | Elgin – Temporary and new traffic signal with fiber optic interconnect. Additional traffic monitoring and signal system equipment were included in the project at the request of the Kane County Division of Transportation.
  • U.S. Route 14 (Northwest Highway) at Kelsey Road | Lake Barrington – Temporary and new traffic signal installation, with railroad preemption and fiber optic interconnect.
  • IL Route 25 (Broadway Street) at Illinois Avenue | Aurora – Traffic signal modification with railroad preemption equipment. Also included railroad crossing related beacons, signage and pavement markings.
  • IL Route 72-83 (Oakton Street), IL Route 72 (Higgins Road-West) to IL Route 72 (Higgins Road-East) | Elk Grove Village – Temporary and new traffic signal installation at three intersections with fiber optic interconnect.
  • IL Route 19/IL Route 43/Forest Preserve Drive | Chicago – Temporary and new traffic signal installation at three intersections with fiber optic interconnect. Included coordination with City of Chicago.
  • North Cook County LED Installation | Glenview/Niles – Traffic signal upgrades including LED signal heads, LED pedestrian signal heads with countdown timer, and Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) at 57 intersections.
  • US Route 34 (Ogden Avenue) at IL Route 59 | Naperville – Temporary and new traffic signal installation with fiber optic interconnect and street lighting.
  • IL Route 83 (Kingery Highway/Busse Road) from 3rd Avenue to Mark Street | Bensenville – Temporary and new traffic signal installation at five intersections with fiber optic interconnect.
  • East End Avenue at Sauk Trail and 26th Street | South Chicago Heights – Temporary and new traffic signal installation at two intersections with railroad interconnect.
  • IL Route 1 (Halsted Road) at Vincennes Road and 152nd Street | Phoenix – Temporary and new traffic signal installation with fiber optic interconnect.
  • IL Route 171 (State Street) at IL Route 7 (9th Street) | Lemont – Temporary and new traffic signal installation with railroad preemption and fiber optic interconnect.

This Contract Incorporates the Following:

  • Ongoing contract with multiple projects
  • Multiple intersection traffic signal modifications with fiber optic interconnection
  • Flashing beacon installations
  • Emergency vehicle preemption equipment and coordination
  • Railroad preemption equipment and coordination
  • LED pedestrian signal heads with countdown timer
  • Railroad crossing related beacons, signage and pavement markings
